A PROPOSED SCENIC RESERVE
(Special to the "Evening Post.")
WANGANUI, September 3,
For several years Raetihi residents have instituted inquiries as to the possibility of the Government acquiring and setting aside, as a scenic reservej a strip of beautiful native bush bordering the Parapara Road for the distance of about'two miles. When the Minister of Lands (the Hon. F. Langstone) and a party visited the district recently to inspect newlyacquired Government land, the matter was again brought before him. "This strip is considered to be one of the finest pieces of bush bordering a main highway," said one of the speakers. As a timber company holds the milling rights, it was finally arranged that the Raetihi Borough Council should approach the company with a view to arriving at some monetary foundation.
