CRASH INTO A POLE
YOUNG PEOPLE AT AUCKLAND
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
AUCKLAND, This Day.
A small saloon rental car was damaged beyond repair and its four young occupants were seriously injured when the vehicle crashed into a power pole shortly after midnight in Three Kings Road, opposite Rewa Road, Mount Roskill. ■ The driver, Michael Kyne .(23), of Parnell, and Miss Dorothy Davies (22), of Gisborne, are still in a serious condition. Douglas Peterson (23), Mount Eden, is out of danger, and Joyce White (19), of Gisborne, is in a satisfactory condition. It is probable that the car skidded on the slippery concrete road and crashed into the power pole on the bend. The crash was heard by residents a considerable distance away. They summoned a doctor, and tw6 ambulances took the injured people to hospital. All four suffered head injuries and concussion.
