SHIP OVERWHELMED
SURVIVOR'S SWIM THROUGH
RAGING SEAS
PANAMA CITY, September 3. After swimming through raging seas, Addley Baker, aged 29, a seaman, staggered ashore and reported that the coastal steamer Tarpon was lost on the Gulf of Mexico. It is believed that the majority of the crew, numbering 28, were drowned. The men were below when a squall struck the vessel, which was overwhelmed without warning. _ Searchers rescued eleven of the crew some of whom are seriously burned. Two bodies have been recovered.
