ELDERLY UNEMPLOYED
PLANS IN SOUTH WALES

RUGBY, September 2. The Minister of Labour, Mr. Ernest Brown, on his return from visiting the South Wales training centres, said:— "Plans are to be devised for the speedy return to industry of elderly unemployed men, and it is intended to make employers in the areas acquainted with the capabilities of such men, of whom there are 20,000 in South Wales unem-ployed-for six months and over." ■ The success of the training centre at Merthyr, he added, was encouraging [regarding the problem of the young Ixrien. - ,
