OIL-FREE PLUGS
A sparking plug has been placed on the market in which a charge of gas is used to keep the points oil free. There is an antechamber on top of the plug body. It receives and stores a charge of gas at a pressure equal to that in the compression' chamber and when the exhaust stroke takes place the charge is stated to leave the antechamber at high speed, passing between the insulator and plug body and creating a scouring action which prevents burnt oil from accumulating. j
