CLUB NOTES

WARRIORS DEFEATED

Warriors A met with a smashing defeat last Saturday, going down before the third-grade Huia team by 7-0. Lack of combinationand weak cover by the half-line, combined with hard hitting by the forwards, proved Warriors' undoing. Sutherland, at centre-half, played a great game, but his effort

was too much of a "lone hand" one. McGhie, Scholes, and E. C. Brown broke through the Huia backs frequently, but could not outwit the Huia goalie. Generally, however, hard hitting by the Warriors gave the Huia backs plenty of opportunity to intercept and clear. . Warriors B defeated Petone by 7-1, the forwards combining well at most stages. Louper, left-wing, and Freeman, inner, were hard to beat when they got the ball. The halves were good in both attack and defence, and the backs showed initiative when called upon to clear.
