STRANGE HOUSES
What strange houses some people live in! Here is how one of the lake dwellings of the Indians in Venezuela, South America, is built. Tree trunks are lashed together with strips of hide to make a platform. This is tied on to a number of stakes Which raise it above water level. Then a hut made of tree branches, with a grass roof, is built on the platform. It takes only a day to build, and no one minds if a sudden storm blows it away, because another can easily be made. Just the thing for summer camping—before the big winds begin to blow!
