' TALK BY MRS. MCKEEN
There was an enthusiastic meeting of members of the Women's Guild of St. James's Church, Newtown, o» a recent afternoon, when Mrs. R. McKeen gave a short address on her travels in EnglßPd, Mrs. A. G. Gardiner presided.
Mrs, McKeeh gave aq interesting account of visits to places in England and Scotland which have been immor« talised by song and story, her description of a visit to Bermeyside, where she made a pilgrimage to the tomb, of Sir Walter Scott and Earl 'Haig, being particularly interesting. W.hen in Edinburgh Mrs, McKeen visited the Scottish National War Memorial. This, she said, was one of the world's most wonderful memorials, depicting in stone and bronze the deathless deeds of the sailors, soldiers, nurses, and others who took part in the Great War. .At the conplusion of Mrs. McKeen's remarks there was a. general discussion about the places described, and the meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to the speaker. ;
