MAUNGANUI'S CRUISE
A message received by the Union Steam Ship .Company from the Maungatfui, which is at present on an island cruise, states that the ' ship met with some bad weather on the trip, but that conditions have improved latterly. On " Tuesday afternoon the ceremony of initiation to the islands by Neptune was performed and in the evening the investiture into the Neptune Order was held. Miss Harper, of Waimate, was Neptune's queen, and Misses Wilson', of Wanganui, and Gager, of Hikurangi, the ladies-in-waiting. The Maunganui berthed at Nukualofa at 8 a.m.'"yesterday and, in beautiful weather, trips were made to the Wood of the Flying Foxes and the blow-holes. In the afternoon the natives entertained with singing and dancing and music was provided by the Wesleyan Boys'. Brass Band. The ship sailed at 4.30 p.m. for Vavau after a delightful day had been spent by the passengers. ....
