USE OF ACIDS
(Special to the "Evening Post.") ■ MASTERTON, This Day. Intruder-) in the Wairarapa High School building on Wednesday night fortified themselves for the onslaught on the office door with bottles of sulphuric and hydrochloric acid. The "soup," howevor, provided no "open sesame," but did a considerable amount of damage to the paint on the framework of the door. The intruders then j turned their attention to an office window, which was forced open. A sum of 8s in cash, about Is in stamps, and a number of school badges were stolen. The money, which was taken from a tin in a drawer, had been collected from pupils'who had broken windows in the building by accident. The intruders' knowledge Of chemistry was astray, as neither of the acids used on the lock of the door have any action on copper. ■ ■
