DONCASTER ST. LEGER
The St. Leger is set down foivdccir cision on September 8. When the last mail to hand left London the American colt Perifox ruled equal favourite with Mid-day Sun. On the strength of an attractive performance in the Payne Stakes, run prior to the Derby. Perifox was sent out favourite for the Epsom classic, but, after having every chance, he ran fourth. At the Ascot Meeting some three weeks after the decision of the Derby, Mid-day Sun furnished evidence of training on well when he won the Hardwicke Stakes, weifhtrfor-age run over a mile and a half. . :
