CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.
Fields of better numerical strength than anticipated. particularly in the steeplechases, have been secured for the second day of the C.J.C. Grand National Meeting tomorrow. Tudor is a surprise acceptor for the Beaufort Steeplechase, and he might safely get this distance. The weather1 at present is very dull, but there is no real threat of rain.
The following horses may be fancied: Hunt Cup.—Jangled, Arctic Star, or Kelly the Crow. Summer Handicap.—Chidden, Tidewaiter, Miracle. < - Beaufort • Steeplechase.—Noctumus, Cock o' the North, Shillelagh Wood.
