The second day of the Poverty Bay Turf Club's Meeting opened in brilliant sunshine. There is a large attendance and the track is in good order. Results:— Gisborne Hurdles, £100; 1J miles.— 1 Begorrah, 10.1 (Lord), 1; 3 Bazaine, 10.11, 2; 5 La Femme Noire, 9.0, 3. Scr.: Kahunoke, Mahala. . Three lengths; four lengths. Time, 3min 16 4-ssec. Trial Handicap, £70; 6 furlongs.—3 Ihu, 8.7 (Broughton), 1; 7 Singing Gold, 8.0, 2; 5 Mailman, 8.0, 3. All started. Half a length; length. Time, lmin 16 sec. ' . . Waikanae Handicap, £110; 1 mile.— 1 Small Boy, 8-6 (Wiggins), 1; 4 Gay Hunter, 8.4, 2; 3 Blue Needle, 8.13, 3. All started. Length; one and a half lengths. Time, lmin '42sec.
