■ -. . i GREAT ENTHUSIASM United Press Association—By v Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received July 30, 11 a.m.) . CAIRO, July 29. Scenes of great enthusiasm marked the investiture and acclamation of | King Farouk, as a result of which he becomes the world's youngest reigning monarch. Huge crowds lined the route c* the procession from the palace to Parliament, where a brilliant gathering including the Queen Mother and the Princesses, witnessed the ceremony ef .taking the oath in the Chamber of Deputies. There was no Coronation, as modern Egypt has no crown. Significant ef the Westernisation of the East, women's faces were almost uncovered at the investiture. The' Queen Mother, the Princesses, ladies of the Court, and others wore small while gauze veils which covered only the chin. The King took his seat on a throne of gold and green velvet, overhung by a canopy surmounted by a massive crown. This, and a crown outside the building held aloft by four eagles, each 40ft high, were symbols of the King's office. . Prominent among sight-seers were sheiks and fierce-looking desert tribesmen in flowing robes.
