NEW REVUE COMPANY

I .-•■ Coining Shortly. ■~.■;"...■■• ! Encouraged, no doubt by'the extraordinary success of his great" venture I ' "The Marcus Show," Sir Benjamin '. Fuller has how announced that his firm intends to, resume the presentation- of.l - good stage productions in. New Zealand : and Australia.. Sir Benjamin states that he is ■■-confident- that there is. a ' great revival of interest in- the stage ' abroad, and that the' New Zealand andAustralian public is eager for a regular supply of good, shows.. 'Fullers': Theatres, Ltd., intend to provide stage entertainment regularly, and for the present will concentrate on revue of the best standard. 'Fhe next big show will be the Bertram Montague Revue' Company, which is shortly .to commence its Australian and New Zealand ■ tour in Melbourne. Details of the New ■ Zealand: seasons will ..be announced ,' later. The Montague Company, which hasjust completed a tour of South Africa, will appear in two spectacular and 1 lively London successes, "This- Year of ; Carnival" and "Let's Go Places." Many : brilliant performers will be seen in this 1 combination, which had an amazing success in London, and the original producer, Mr. Lewis Marks, is travel- . ling with thestars to produce the" show in Australia and New Zealand. One of the principal performers will 1 be the English comedian, George Doonan. He is well known in the West : End as a famous representative of the . modern school of "dress-suit" comedians. The leading lady and comedi- • enne will be charming Barbara Vernon, a young American actress, who made a remarkable personal 'success in the name part of "No, No, Nanette," when that musical comedy was revived at the London Hippodrome last year. She was at one time a dancer in the American variety act of Russell, Marcorn, and Vernon. One of the most original and fascinating acts to be seen on this side of the world is the Darmora Ballet of twelve beautiful Hungarian girls. This is under the direction of Madame Darmora herself. These . young ladies have a special, clause inserted in their contract stating that the entire ballet must be.returned to Budapest as they have an important engagement to fill in the Hungarian capital next season. The ballet is bringing with them all their own costumes, which are estimated to be worth £16,000. The marvellous ostrich feathers used throughout the entire production gained the admiration of the Press in South Africa, and this being the home of ostrich feathers, the ones used in the revue must be of outstanding beauty to have merited such attention. Other performers will be the Two Rogues, comedy specialty act and Jimmy Jewell and Ben Harris, English comedians. The Two Rogues are knock-about dancers who have been featured in many British films including "Brewster's Millions," with Jack Buchanan, and "Evergreen," starring Jessie" Matthews. There will also be the Dawn Sisters, American eccentric dancers, and the Blenders, an outstanding male quartet. The revue "Let's Go Places" is well named, because in it the whole company literally do "go places," using a huge oceangoing liner to do so. They visit Madeira, New York, Russia, Hungary, and Egypt. ' •„ The Montague Revue Company will be something entirely new in spectacle, talent, humour, and all the elements that go to make up the sort of show that London's West End loves.
