A unique record of powerful godfathers —President Hindenberg, HenHitler, and now1 General Goering—is held by the family of Franz Steinert, of Rheydt, Prussia. His wife has presented him with their fourteenth child, a girl. Immediately he was informed, General Goering. gavo instructions that a monetary gift should be sent to the family, together with a message stating that he himself would be the child's godfather. Two older sisters have already as their godparents the late President Hindenberg and Chancellor Hitler, a distinction that no other German family possesses.
