GENTLEMAN RIDER'S DEATH

The inquest into the death of Robin Cracroft Harper, a gentleman rider who died last week after a fall from a horse at the Waimate Hunt Club's Steeplechase Meeting, was concluded at Waimate this week, and, in accordance with the medical evidence of Dr. A. G. Pitts and Dr. T. W. Wylie. a verdict was returned that Harper

"died from the bursting of a hydatid cyst in the right chest, brought about by an accidental fall from his horse in a steeplechase on the racecourse at Waimate on July 17, 1937, concerning which no blame is attachable to anyone."

Dr. Pitts said in evidence that .even had a burst hydatid cyst been suspected immediately after the accident, death could not have been averted.
