(By Telegraph—l'ress Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 28. Fat sheep, breeding ewes, and porkers were easier at today's Addington market, and fat cattle, store wethers, and baconers firmer.

Store sheep: Forward wethers were firmer, and sold to 26s 6d; good wether hoggets made to 255; sound-mouthed ewes, well in lamb, sold at 28s 3d, but aged sorts were down by 2s a head.

Fat sheep: The entry was about 7000 head. There was a distinct easing for most classes. Wethers were most affected, being down fully 2s. 'Ewes were down Is 6d for heavy sorts, and there was little change for lighter ewes. Extra prime heavy wethers made to 48s Id, prime heavy 35s to 40s, prime medium-weight 31s to 345, ordinary 27s to 30s; extra prime heavy ewes, to 35s Id, prime heavy 27s 'to 30s, prime medium-weight 24s 6d to 26s 6d, ordinary 20s to. 245.

Fat cattle: Four hundred and thirtyfive were penned, the smaller penning meeting with an improvement of 10s to 15s a head. Best beef sold up to 36s a hundred pounds. Extra prime heavy steers made to £19 _17s 6d, prime heavy £14 to £15 10s, prime mediumweight £13 to £14, ordinary £10 to £12; extra prime heifers to £13 2s 6d, prime £9 to £10 10s, nedium £6 5s to £8 ss; extra prime ccws to £12 17s 6d, prime £7 5s to £9 10s, medium £5 5s to £6 15s.

- Vealers: In spite of an unattractive entry, the sale was a good one. There was a keen demand for small calves, the market generally being better. Prime heavy runners made to £7 18s 6d. heavy £4 to £6,.medium £2 10s to £3 15s; prime vealers, £3 7s 6d to £4 17s 6d; medium, £2 15s to £3 ss; small calves, 25s to £2 15s.

Store cattle: The market consisted of odd lots of cows. For the most part these sold at about recent rates.

Dairy cattle: Top price was £11. 2s 6d for a second calver, and the best heifer price was £9 10s. The demand was practically confined to good sorts near profit. Fat pigs: An exceptionally heavy entry of porkers, and the market eased by 2~s a head, except for heavyweights, which remained fully on a par with the rates of last week. Choppers showed little change. The baconer sale was spirited throughout, and all classes showed an advance, particularly heavyweights, which fully recovered last week's drop of 5s a head. Choppers made 58s 6d to £5 18s 6d; light porkers, 28s 6d to 36s 6d, medium 37s 6d to 42s 6d, large 45s 6d to 49s 6d, extra heavy 51s 6d to 55s 6d, average price 6Jd to 7d a pound; baconers, light 54s 6d to £3 7s 6d, heavy £3 10s 6d to £4 19s 6d, average price 6Jd to 6Jd a pound. Store pigs: An exceptionally heavy entry, but. the sale was a good one. Medium weaners, however, were easier by 2s to 3s a head. Large stores were again keenly sought. Small weaners made 6s 6d to Bs.6d, good 10s to 13s; slips, 15s 6d:to 17s 6d; small stores, 18s to 20s, medium 21s to 255, large 26s to 30s. - ' "■' ■-.• ;
