FROM "FIVE O'CLOCK"
M. AND MADAME NIHOTTE
ENTERTAIN
For the second time within the week M. Armand Nihotte, the Consul of Belgium, and Madame Nihotte entertained a large number of guests when they gave another "five co seven" party last night ■at thsir home, "Ituahine," 296 The Terrace.
The folding doors between the drawing- and dining-rooms were opened, making one large reception room which was ■ warmed with a crackling fire and made gay with flowers. There wers tall mauve iris which had the deep gold curtains drawn across tlia wide window as a background and little bowls were filled with fragrant violets and daphne. The dining-room table, which was set with savouries on green glass platters, was charmingly arranged. It was covered with an embroidered linen cloth. A low silver bowl, filled with pale pink carnations, deeper pink cyclamen, and maidenhair fern was reflected in the oval of mirror glass
on which it stood in the centre of the table and about it-- were grouped lighted red candles in silver candlesticks.
There were 70 guests. Madame Nihotte was wearing' a gown, of powder blUe triple crepe and a diamond ornament. ■': .
