HUNTING SONG ON TOP
According to the compilation of a northern writer. Hunting Song, whose progeny have won close on £16,000 this season, becomes the leading sire of the Dominion for the fifth time in succession, thus equalling the performance of Soult. Martian, a great stayer and sire, holds the record with six times in succession.
Rising nineteen years of age. Hunting Song is by Hurry On. an unbeaten horse on the track and leading sire, of England in 1926. Hurry On sired three Derby winners. Coronach, Captain Cuttle, and Call Boy, and he is also the sire of Precipitation, the best older horse in England this season and winner of the Ascot Gold Cup.
Pasta, dam ot Hunting Song, was a daughter of Thrush, who has been very successful as a .sire of brood mares, among his progeny being TrebelH II and Trichas, both of whom have founded good . families in New Zealand. Trichas being the grandam
