TECHNICAL COLLEGE
PROGRESS ON NEW BLOCK
The demands made upon the existing accommodation f.t the Wellington Technical College by the increasing number of enrolments will be met to a large extent by the completion of the new blo-lv, which is expected to be ready i'or occupation in about three months. Work on the building, which will contain eleven commercial classrooms on two floors, with a basement for architectural classes, has been proceeding for about four months. Its completion will enable the laboratories in the main block to be used for their..proper purpose. At present they are occupied mainly for general classes, and their effectiveness as laboratories is correspondingly limited, The enrolments at the college are steadily mounting. At the beginning of the year the total of day and evening students was about 3000; it is nov/ approaching 4000.
