TO SAY FAREWELL
Mrs. Macdonell and Mrs. V. PowellWift'en were hostesses at the National Club recently to bid "bon voyage" to Mr. and Mrs. M. Phelari, who are leaving" shortly for England: and America. Bridge was played during the evening, the prizes being won by Mr. and Mrs. Phelan.
Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. Ornslein, Mr. and Mrs. Perrett, Mr. and Mrs. Bearman, Mrs. Parkinson, Mr. G. Martin, Mrs. .Perry. Mr, H. E. Taylor. Mrs. Burnard, Mr. J.1 Hyams. and Mr. E. Wylie. . . -" Before using :i new packet, .of lea. spread the ten on a sheet of brown paper in a warm, not too hot,- oven for ten minutes. It will go twice as far, and will have a belter flavour.
Handkerchiefs will have just. ■ the right stiffness if they are laid out flat on a starched tablecloth, after they; are washed. The cloth is folded ovc^ and.passed through.the wringer.
