TRAIN SLIGHTLY DELAYED
The train for JohnsonvHle was delayed slightly last evening by a mishap at 5.20 when running empty carriages into position at No. 3 platform at Wellington station. Many small boys have admired the massive buffers which have been placed to stop trains entering the platforms, and wondered what would happen if a heavy engine did not stop in time. The buffers are reinforced with railway iron, and have a long toe in the right place to buttress up their formidable efficiency. In the case of the Johnsonville train it was not- the engine, but the guard's van which struck the buffer. One of the I carriages was partly dei*ailed. minor damage being done.' The delay in the dispatch of the train to schedule was very slight. a double walling round the ground floor Theatres have endeavoured' to hold old patrons and attract new ones by making provision nearby.
