INJURED HANDS

PARKS AND GILDO

It, is.-not-'.generally known that "Tiger!' Parks, the negro whose display against Neville Mudgway;' was rather disappointing, seriously' injured his :right hand in the fourth round, which very largely explains .his fading out ;[ over the ' latter stages of the contest.

Parks has been having his hand

treated by a doctor since; that fight, and hopes to be able to _resume training shortly. More than ever it.is apparent that he should be given another chance to show the Wellington public what he can do.

While on the subject of injured hands, it was good to see that "Young" Gildo was able to get back into the ring again this week. This means that, barring accidents, he will be all set for his forthcoming engagement at Wellington against the Australian Joe Hall, which is set down for August 5.

The Wellington Association has sent articles to Hall to be signed, and everything is in readiness for him to make his visit at the end of this month.
