UPPER HUTT COURT
Cases in Ihe Upper Hutt Court yesterday were* dealt with by Mr. H. P. Lawry, S.M. ■For riding; a bicycle at night without a light, Jock Harrison was fined 10s, and for a similar ofl'ence Donald Wilson was rfined 15s. William Woodcock was fined £1 for not having ;s heavy traffic licence. A similar offence cost Jack Mitchell £2.
A fine !o.f .£1 was imposed on Lyall 'Thornton for exceeding the licensed load with his;heavy traffic vehicle, and William J. Mfc Gill was fined the same ■amount for .a pimilar offence. Fines of 10s each! were imposed on William H. Jiplliffe, Noel Williamson, Lawrence Kingan, and Mabel Jessie Sygrove on charges of not renewing their driving licences'for the-current year.

Leslie Herbert Howe was fined £3 for driving without due cars and attention.
Constable JT. Williams said that on May 29.the defendant, when driving at night, travelled three chains on the incorrect side of the road and collided with a, concrete pole, breaking it off. His excuse was ; that he was passing another car whein he became dazzled by the lights of an oncoming car, and, thinking he couid not get back> into line, he continued on on the wrong side of the road. ■ ■ -:a
