(Received June 23, 11 a.m.) LONDON, June 22. Tommy Farr, British boxing champion, and Max Schmeling, German champion, have signed articles to fight in London in August or September. The British Boxing Board of Control will be asked to recognise it as a world title fight.

From Valencia it is reported that after a conference with the President, Senor Azana, the Government issued a long manifesto to the Spanish people to the effect that although Bilbao has been evacuated the Basque country is not conquered. It says that the world will shudder when it knows the whole story of 150,000 people who preferred to abandon the city to living under the tyranny of the invaders. The Government remains confident of ultimate victory.
