Wheatcroft (Great Britain), 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-3. Kho Sin Kie (China) and K. Schroeder (Sweden) beat D. C. Coombe and J. Giesen (New Zealand), 6-1, 6-4, 6-2. G. P. Hughes and C. R. D. Tuckey (Great Britain) beat J. Borotra and M. Bernard (France), 6-4, 6-3, 1-6, 6-4. J. Pallada and J. Puncec (Yugoslavia) beat E. R. Avory and H. G. N. Lee (Great Britain), 6-0, 6-1, 5-7, 6-3. E. D. Andrews (New Zealand) and F. Quintavelle (Italy) beat A. A. Brown and Findlay (Great Britain), 6-0, 6-4, 6-4. WOMEN'S SINGLES. (Holder, Miss Helen Jacobs, U.S.A.) First Round. Miss A.
