LEADING TEAMS WIN

Yorkshire, for which Huttori made 271 not out, Heavily defeated Derbyshire, in the county cricket matches which were completed today, while Sussex scored an outright win over Hampshire. Other counties which secured the lull points were Gloucestershire, Somerset,, and Essex. Sims bowled very successfully for M.C.C. against Cambridge and other bowlers who did well included Hammond, James Langridge, Perks, Clay, and Andrews. Results are:— M.C.C. v. Cambridge University, at Lord's.—Cambridge, 218 (Sims six for 80) and 213 (Sims five for 57); M.C.C, 199 (Compton 80; Hunt five for 51) and 233 for three wickets (Compton 85). M.C.C. won by seven wickets. Gloucestershire v. Surrey, at the Oval.—Gloucestershire, 174 and 119; Surrey, 127 (Hammond four for 39) and 57 (Hammond four for 27, Goddard six for 26). Gloucestershire won by 109 runs. Derbyshire v. Yorkshire, at Sheffield. —Derbyshire, 145 (Turner five for 45) and 281 (Smith 158); Yorkshire, 525 for four wickets, declared (Sutcliffe 86s Hutton 271 not out). Yorkshire won by an innings and 99 runs. Sussex v. Hampshire, at Worthing.— Sussex, 288 and 308 for seven, declared (John Langridge 117); Hampshire, 307 (McCorkell 100) and 136 (James Langridge seven for 29). Sussex won by 153 runs. Oxford University v. Worcestershire, at Oxford.—Oxford, 195 (Perks five for 60) and 49 (Perks five for 24); Worcestershire, 407 (Gibbons 96). Worcestershire won by an innings and 163 runs. Glamorgan v. Warwickshire, at Pontypridd.—Glamorgan; 421 (E. Davies 140) and 91 for two wickets, declared; Warwickshire, 313 (Wyatt 127; Clay six for 85) and 144 for seven (Clay five for 67). Glamorgan won on the first innings. Somerset v. Kent, at Bath. —Somerset, 344 (Luckes 12 not out) and 264 for six, declared (Burrough 133); Kent. 116 (Andrews six for 62) and 73 (Andrews four for 31). Somerset won by 419 runs. Leicestershire v. Lancashire, at Leicester.—Leicestershire, 411 for eight, declared (Berry 120, Dempster 92) and 04 for one; Lancashire, 469 (Paynter 95, Iddon 149). Lancashire won on the first innings. Essex v. Northamptonshire, at Peterborough.—Essex, 207 (Jupp five for 39) and 77 (Clark six for 29, Jupp four for 31); Northamptonshire, 126 (Eastman five for 33) and 124 (Eastman five for 44). Essex won by 34 runs.
