PLUNKET BALL
At the meeting of the Plunket Ball executive on Monday evening, Mrs. Mathews, convener of the supper committee, reported that a strong array of talent had been secured for the "musicale" to be held in the Palm Lounge of the Hotel St. George at 3 p.m. on Friday. . Mrs.. McDonald will be the pianist, and the following will contribute items: —Mesdames E. T. Spidy, JohnFarrell (Auckland), H. Ainslie, Arnold Downer, F. C. Burgess, and Miss Ngaire Highet. The subscription is 2s fid, and afternoon tea will be provided. . .
It was further reported by,the Young People's Committee that they are arranging ■ a "scavenge hunt," and. that considerable interest is being shown in it. This will take place on Friday, July 2, and will start at 8 o'clock from the Mercer Street entrance to the Town Hall, and will finish with a dance at the Majestic Cabaret, when prizes will be presented to the fortunate "scavengers." .... The function^ are being ■ held to a=sist in meeting the cost of the Plunket Ball, and liberal support is confidently expected.
The booking office for the Plunket Ball will be opened at the D.I.C. on June 30. There will be no extra charge for reserved seats in the galleries. A few alcoves for. parties .will be available under the side galleries at an extra charge.
