INSTITUTE AFFAIRS
MEETING AT BELMQNT
A meeting of the Belmont Women's Intitute was held in the Belmont Hall recently when, although the weather was unpleasant, Mrs. Bennett presided over a very fair attendance.
Mrs. Lundius gave a most interesting talk on "The Eruption of Tarawera."
Winners of the various competitions were as follows: —Parcel competition, Mrs. Alsop; guessing competition, Mrs. France; the best thrift article, Mrs. Hoare; the best flower in' the garden for the month, Mrs. Bennett. Community singing was another enjoyable item. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Lawrence, Nelson, Prestige, and McMurray.
