(To the Editor.)
Sir,—As one who, '.less than three years ago, was a prefect at a large college where morning Bible reading and prayers were the custom, may I point out from, my experience a reason for the smooth running of morning devotions in schools? It just does not matter. We: attended; some envied Catholics and others who stayed outside, and most were quite ready to \iave our attention diverted. And there were many who mumbled the Lord's Prayer in very perfunctory fashion. The moral uplift of the ceremony was negligible. I submit that the opinion of one who. has taken part in the ceremony is worth as much as one who has merely repeated what the controllers of the ceremony have had to say. —I am, etc.,: UNIMPRESSED EX-STUDENT. .
