MR. FRASER ON CONDITIONS
IN NEW ZEALAND
(Received June 5, 11.25 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day.
During the hearing of a claim by 52 unions for an increase in the basic wage, Mr. Crofts, appearing for the unions, produced a cable message. from the Acting Prime Minister of New Zealand, Mr. P. Fraser, which stated that, the restoration of purchasing power to wage earners by the present Government had quickly been reflected in improved business conditions. Mr. Fraser added that there had been no evidence of a flight of capital •to Australia as a resuit of Government measures in New Zealand.
