WASHINGTON, June 3,
The report that President Roosevelt has abandoned his proposals for Supreme Court reorganisation during the present session owing to opposition and the recent favourable decisions is denied. Following a conference last night at the White House, Senator J. T. Robinson stated that the President had not abandoned his Supreme Court revision plan, and would press for its passage during the present session of Congress in a modified form. i A battle on the floor of the Senate, lasting possibly for months, is expected to be fought over the Judiciary Kef orms , Bill. . Opponents of the measure assert that with the, resignation of the aged Justice r Van Devanter, there is no further' excuse for reforming the Supreme Court. They also argue that the retired Judge can now be replaced by a Radical Justice, giving the Bench a six to three liberal majoi'ity.
Mr. Donald .Richberg, one of the legal advisers to the New Deal, is^ "tipped" to replace Justice Van' Devanter. ■
