John Henry Lewis retained his lightheavyweight boxing title by knocking out Bob Olin, a former champion, in the eighth round of a fifteen-round bout. .
. Olin absorbed terrific punishment and never threatened the champion. The contender was twice, floored, being completely weakened in the fourth round when he was dropped for a count of eight by a hard right to the heart. Lewis after this pounded him with hard rights and lefts to the^face, and continued the battering until the end.
Lewis weighed 12st 61b and Olin 12st 631b.
