DEVELOPMENTS IN WRESTLING

UNION CHALLENGED; TED THYE ARRIVES

The past week has proved to be one of the most memorable in the history of wrestling in this country and the repercussions of the developments which occurre d will be awaited with considerable interest. First there was the announcement that a new organisation had been formed to challenge the Dominion Union in the promoting field; then Ted Thye, one of the big men behind the gun so far as the union is concerned, ar rived for a short stay, bringing some important news regarding the union's coming attractions. Thye was accompanied by "Kin g Kong" Cox ("the Jack Itempsef of wrestling"), who is expected to play a big part in the season's operations.

The new importing organisation, the Dominion Athletic Club, and its affiliated promoting body, the New Zealand Wrestling and Athletic Club (Wellington branch) are undertaking an ambitious project in challenging the Dominion Union and its affiliated associations and if they are to succeed they will need to place before the public exceptionally high-class talent.
