WELLINGTON REGIMENT BALL

On Wednesday next, the King's Birthday, the Wellington regimental ball will take place. All officers, warrant-officers, non-commissioned officers, and men of the Wellington Regiment ■ will have an opportunity of gathering together with their friends and those interested' in the unit and guests from other units. It promises to be even a more brilliant gathering than that of- last year. Wellington is justly proud of its own regiment, which is the only territorial force unit in Wellington entitled to carry the King's Colours. In token of its war record the regiment carries the battle honours of the famous Rifle Brigade on its colours, and the officers and men are privileged to wear the distinguishing black patches of the brigade. The Wellington Regiment is finding increasing support from the young men in the city, who realise that one of the best ways of assisting their country is in fitting themselves for service should the occasion arise. The ball on Wednesday will provide an excellent opportunity to members and their friends to honour the King on this occasion.
