EXCELLENT "HAMPER"
GIFT FOR HOSPITAL
'' A most successful afternoon was held by the Khandallah branch of the Women's National Reserve Residential Nursery recently at the residence of Mrs. H. Heays, Khandallah. Many members and friends were present, and the result was an excellent "hamper" for the Porirua Mental Hospital. Not only were books, wool, clothing, etc., received but also a large supply of tinned goods.
The president, Mrs. A. B. Gibbons, welcomed all present. A competition, which was won by Mrs. W. H. Gledhill, was followed by afternoon tea. Miss Kelly, the matron of the hospital, gave a most interesting account of the various ways in which the patients were occupied; and also showed how acceptable the gift of a "hamper" proved to the hospital. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the hostess, Mrs. Heays.
