DICKENS FELLOWSHIP
DRAMATIC CLUB ENTERTAIN
A meeting of the Dickens Fellowship was held this week in Charming Hall with the president (Mr. E. C. Smythe) in the chair. One of the most enjoyable programmes of the year was provided by the dramatic club, assisted by vocal items given by Mrs. Wilman and Mr. Stapp, accompanied by Miss Keegan.
The character sketch from "Martin Chuzzlewit," "Jones Comes Home Drunk," was exceptionally well portrayed by George Packwood, and Freda Harris delighted everyone with her
"Little Seamstress" from the "Tale of Two Cities." The "Old Curiosity Shop" provided the next sketch, "Outside Mrs. Jarley's Caravan." Mrs. Lawrence made an excellent Mrs. Jarley, and Mr. Prince as "Grandfather," Rosemary Page as "Little Nell," V. Barrow as "Miss Monflathers," and Moyra Brown as "Miss Edwards," all give good interpretations, of the respective characters.
