GAOL FOR DESERTION
A sentence of 21 days' imprisonment with hard labour was imposed on Patrick Fox, a ship's fireman, aged 47, ;by Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court yesterday afternoon for deserting, the steamer. Karanga jat Auckland. He was convicted and discharged for using insulting language in a public place. , '■ ■
