BURGLARS OVERLOOK £100

DUNEDIN, This Day.
Burglars broke into the Trades Hall last evening. They removed £30 in silver but 'missed £100 in notes in a small drawer of a safe.
CHOICE OF WEAPON
Herr Peier, the Hungarian Socialist leader, recently received a challenge to fight a sabre duel with Dr. Czoka, a Budapest police officer. He accepted —on the condition that the.duel was fought with field-guns. "I served in the artillery in the war," he explained. By way of further ridiculing Budapest's craze for duels, Herr Peier suggested putting the field-guns on two hills on each side of the city.
