Heavy rain fell oyernight and the weather is cold and showery for the first day of the Wanganui Jockey Club's Winter Meeting. The track is soft. There is a fair attendance. -

"Winter Oats, £200; 6 furlongs.—3 Gold Mission, 8.11 (R. Savage), 1; 1 Ben Braggie, 9.12, 2; 2 Notium, 8.11, 3. Scr.: Moatoa, Collodion. Neck; length and a half. Time, Imin 17 l-ssec.
