COAT RIBBON TIES
The ribbon tie that is usually stitched inside the right armhole of a heavy coat to support the left front often wears out quickly. A much stronger and more satisfactory tie may be made from a length of elastic covered with ruched silk nr ribbon. The elastic should be stitched in to the right armhole or to the seam just below It should be long enough to pass through the loop on the edge of the left front, double back an inch or. two, and button. A buttonhole should be worked in the end of the elastic, and when the hang of the coat-front has been exactly adjusted a button .should be stitched to the tie in the required position. The elastic gives slightly when the coat is being worn, and does not drag or tear away as a ribbon tie is apt to do. ,
