According to private advices received in Wellington the quality of the offering at the Colombo . tea auction this week showed a considerable falling off. Wright has received-the following cabled report on the Colombo tea auction of June I:—At yesterday's sale, common, medium, and fine grades j were irregular, and showed a decline of id to id, mainly as a result of the absence of London orders.. A total of 2,125,0001b has been catalogued for auction next week. Eggs were quoted on the Wellington wholesale market today at 2s 2d a dozen for B grade, 2s 4d for first erade, and 2s 7d for specials.
