SECRET LEAKS OUT
RICH PEARLING BEDS
HECTIC HUNT, OFF,ARNHEM , LAND SYDNEY, May 10. The Darwin correspondent of the "Sun" says that all the colourful romance of (the gold rush days is reflected in a hectic hunt for reputedly rich pearling beds somewhere off the coast of Arnhem Land. This, was a jealously-guarded secret of the Japanese pearlers, but the frailty of human nature led to the secret leaking out.
A member of the crew of a Japanese pearling lugger, in the course of a celebration, gave vent to his suppressed jubilation during a recent visit to Darwin, and Australian ships are now planning systematic combing of the fields."
