FATAL ACCIDENT
CAR DRIVER FOR TRIAL
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) OAMARU, May 19. In the Magistrate's Court today, before Mr. H. W. Bundle, S.M., Ebenezer Thomas Lindsay was charged with negligently driving a motor-car on the main north road at Oamaru on March 20, thereby causing the death of George Bilton. The accused\ was further charged with negligently driving a car at the same place and time, thereby causing bodily injury to Andrew ITinaly Bain.'
Twenty witnesses were called. Evidence was on the same lines as at the Coronerls inquest. The accused pleaded not guilty to both charges, reserving his defence. He was committed to stand trial at the .next sitting of the Supreme Court at Dunedin, bail being allowed in self £250 and one surety of £250, conditionally' on his reporting once, .weekly, to the police.
