HAWKE'S BAY-POVERTY BAY
TEAM
The . English amateur Association football team will begin its tour of New Zealand with a match against a Hawke's Bay-Poverty Bay eleven at Napier on Thursday of next week, May 27.
' The council of the N.Z.F.A., at its meeting last night, was advised that the Hawke's Bay Football Association's sole selector, Mr. R. Gallacher, had chosen the following combined eleven: —T. Hill (P. 8.); H. Easton (P. 8.), W. Brian (H. 8.); H. Hawthorne (H. 8.), T. Gosling (H. 8.), W. Leicester (H. 8.); W. Thompson" (H. 8.), — Rigby (H. 8.), E. Bridge (P. 8.), H. Hill (P. 8.), A. Waugh (P. 8.). Reserve: H. McCallum (H. 8.).
Mr. J. A. Milburn presided over the meeting and there were also present Messrs. Frank Campbell, P. McKenzie, H. H. A. Renai, E. C. Hollis, W. G. Bryce, F. Sanders, W. J. I. Vaney,-H. L. Godber, B. Martin, and the secretary (Mr. All Williams). Mr. E. J. Anderson, president of the Otago Football Association, also attended.
It was decided to extend the closing date for the Chatham Cup competition to. May 24. Traveling expenses of the finalists will be guar-anteed.
