KHANDALLAH AFFAIRS
'The new-..railway fares and timetable were . discussed at last night's meeting of-the Khandallah Progressive Association,. and it .was agreed that Khandallah "benefited. Mr C. Quinn, the new member taking the place of Mr. H. A. Heron (resigned), was welcomed. Mr. H. Desborough, who had interviewed the postal authorities, said there v/as a probability of securing a letter-box, at the, corner, of Nicholson and Jubilee Roads. A membership of 172 was announced; more residents are to be asked, to join. The- Education- Board wrote that the association's letter regarding the Cashmere scHool site1 had been forwarded to the Department, and would be consideredan due course.
It w/as; decided to ask the City Engineer to improve the Howe Bush Road water channels, and the condition of Amritsar Street.
A-motion congratulating the Director .at Education (Mr. N. T. Lambourne) upon . receiving the Imperial Service" Order in the. Coronation Honours \yas carried.by the- Wellington Education- Board, -this - morning, _
