EXPORT OF FISH
The export of fish to Australia, mentioned by Mr. R. H. Nesbitt, retiring Australian Trade Commissioner in New Zealand, as a trade which could be profitably developed, is intimately connected with the work of the Fisheries Investigation Committee. The possibilities of increasing exports are bound up with the problems of marketing fish in New Zealand, according to a member of the Committee, which is at present in Christcnurch. As the Committee's report is not expected to be available till late this year, any official pronouncement on the export position is not thought possible at'present (states the "Press"). The Committee has still to complete its investigation in the South Island, and to carry out the North Island survey, before exact knowledge of the Dominion's fishing industry is available.
