CITY DECORATIONS
BUNTING COMING DOWN
A start was made yesterday with the removal of pylons arid flags from streets and city corporation buildings and but for the bad weather would have been practically completed today or tomorrow. The coloured light streamers in the streets will probably remain in position 'till next week, with a final lighting up for Friday evening shopping.
Generally speaking, the decorations, which necessarily are lightly built and as lightly attached to buildings and flagstaffs, have stood up very well, but the last two days of wind and rain have given some of the displays a. sad appearance and there will be a general decision for their removal within the next few days. Even floodlighting displays suffer under bad weather, for much of the equipment is of a temporary character and is not weather-proof.
