CARILLON RECITAL
Many people congregated in the vicinity of the National War Memorial Carillon yesterday afternoon when a special recital to mark Coronation Day was given, by the • automatic player. The notes rang out clearly on the still air and brought home to many the significance of the day. Against the natural decorations provided by the setting s,un and the blue sky the Carillon was an impressive sight and caught the attention of a number of people. The following programme was given: The National Anthem; changes on eight bells; "Annie Laurie"; Troubadour March: "My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose"; "Musette" (Bach); "Killarney" and "The Ash Grove"; "The Oak and the Ash"; "I Waited for the Lord"; "The Harp That Once"; "Auld Lang Syne"; "Nearer, My God, to Thee"; change ringing on ten bells; the National Anthem.
